Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Hallways, you accept these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and is part of this agreement.

You must be 18 or older. Give accurate profile information, keep your password private, and tell us if someone else gets into your account. One account per person.

Hallways connects members with former classmates for non-commercial civic outreach: calls, meetings, events, and reunions. We build call lists from public records and the materials members contribute. We may change or discontinue features at any time.

Hallways shows you personal information about people you may know. In return:

• Use contact information from Hallways only for Hallways outreach.
• Do not use any data from Hallways for commercial purposes. State law restricts commercial use of voter registration information.
• Do not scrape, copy data out in bulk, or share it outside the platform.
• Do not harass anyone. If a person asks you not to call again, log it and stop.
• Keep your notes about people inside the platform.

Make calls yourself, from your own phone. Do not use automatic dialing systems. Do not send marketing texts through Hallways or to lists it provides. You call as yourself, not as an employee or agent of Hallways, Inc., and you are responsible for your own conversations.

When you upload material, you confirm you have the right to share it. You give Hallways, Inc. a license to store, process, and display it so we can run the service. We can remove any contribution.

If you believe content on Hallways infringes your copyright, email info@hallways.vote. Include:

• the work you say is infringed,
• where the material appears on Hallways,
• your name, postal address, and email address,
• a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law,
• a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner, and
• your physical or electronic signature.

We review complaints, remove content that infringes, and may close the accounts of repeat infringers. If your content was removed by mistake, you can send a counter-notice with the same contact details.

Meetings run on Google Meet under Google's own terms. Share meeting links only with your school community.

Hallways, its design, and its content belong to Hallways, Inc. or its licensors. These terms give you the right to use the service and nothing more.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, harms other members, or misuses data. You can delete your own account at any time in settings.

Hallways is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We work from public records and historical documents, and they contain mistakes. We do not guarantee that any record, match, or phone number is correct, and we do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent the law allows, Hallways, Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability to you is limited to one hundred dollars. If your breach of these terms causes a claim against Hallways, you are responsible for the costs of that claim. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not let us limit.

Iowa law governs these terms. Disputes belong in the state or federal courts located in Iowa.

When these terms change, we post the new version here and update the date above. If you keep using Hallways after a change, you accept the new terms.

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Hallways, Inc. about the service. If a court finds one part unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a part today, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer your account or this agreement to anyone else. We may assign this agreement in a reorganization of Hallways, Inc. We may send notices by email or in the app, and you agree to receive them electronically.
